Zulu remains one of my favourite films I assume its not that well known outside the UK but the acting is sensational and the fact it’s a true story makes it all the more impressive. From the sound track to the filming it’s a really engrossing experience for me. The Zulu wedding ceremony at the beginning and the marching to the fighting and full throated rendition of ‘Men of Harlech’ are all great. There are superb performances from Nigel Green as Colour Sgt. Bourne and Stanley Baker as Lt. John Chard, the inexperienced but ballsy officer of engineers. There’s no denying that the film celebrates the disaster that is British empire building but it’s a great film and I recommend you check it out if you haven’t before.
And don't you always find that it's poor old Will that gets fired at.
